THE SOUND FROM LONG AGO

At the recent Wings and Wheels event in Thames on 27 January, I heard the inimitable burble of a vintage Mercury flat-head V8, and turned to see Dan and Donna Thompson’s stunning 1951 P1 Allard roadster meandering down the row of cars to its place on the show field.
