ess a European tour, more a weekend away, despite Sleepmakeswaves not playing a concert on the continent for five years, the Sydney post-rockers are only doing two dates upon their return: a spot at Belgium’s Dunk!Festival, followed commence the show in the capital by offering a refreshing twist on well-worn post-rock tropes. Not only is their light show impressively erratic for an opener, but their drum patterns prove fascinating and their crescendos are packed with some extra energetic metal. bridge post-rock and shoegaze to hypnotic effect.
