CONCIERGE

NORWAY’S NEW ENERGY-POSITIVE PROJECT

Cutting-edge technology and eco-conscious design come together at Six Senses Svart, a new off-grid development in the pristine wilderness of northern Norway. The self-sustainable property will be the first energy-positive project from the luxury hotel brand, and is planned to have 94 rooms and an interior scheme of earthy colours and organic materials. Perched upon poles above the crystal-clear waters of Holandsfjorden fjord at the base of Svartisen glacier, the hotel will have minimal land or seabed impact. Solar panels on the roof will harvest enough power to cover the hotel, adjacent operations, boat shuttle, and the energy needed to construct the building. An opening date is not yet confirmed, but Six Senses promises a wellness facility and restaurant and bar, among other offerings. sixsenses.com
