If you’re like me, when you think of Baja, Mexico, you’ll instantly recall memories of the immortal Dust to Glory movie and the annual Baja 500 and 1000 off-road races that slice down the Mexican peninsula south of California. Rocks, whoops, sand and desert are the usual fare of these classic races, and while that kind of topography dominates central Baja, the coastlines on either side are home to some of the most spectacular beaches anywhere in the world.
I’ve ridden Baja before, and I can only describe it as an off-road paradise, so when my Amercian mates Mitch Martinez and Rich Gold threw an invite my way for another Bajabusting adventure, I was on the way as fast as good ol’ United Airlines could get me there!
Mitch has a holiday house — or ‘casita’ as they call them in Mexico — at San Felipe on the east coast of the Baja peninsula, and that was our target once we’d loaded his Silverado pick-up and hooked up the trailer with Mitch’s KTM
