We heard a saying once, something to the effect of, “Don’t mess with an old man wearing a fanny pack in Texas.” Once the sole purview of gentlemen-of-age who donned them with jorts and pearly white New Balance sneakers, fanny packs have come back into fashion for several demographics ranging from backpackers to busy moms. With a resurgence in sizes, colorways, and feature sets, we felt it was worth taking a closer look at this convenient, albeit fashion-agnostic, way to carry all your EDC tools and self-defense enablers.

Before we get into sampling current offerings, there are some pros and cons to consider with fanny packs — particularly within the context of using one to carry a firearm.
