I definitely wouldn’t. I’ve read myths and folklore from all over the world, and the general takeaway is that it rarely ends well for the human involved. Sometimes it does! But I’m a little too risk-averse to play those odds.
Favorite fantasy trope(s)?
I am such a sucker for “the sunshine one x the grumpy one,” especially when one of them is a monster. There’s something about one character refusing to let the other get stuck in the cycle of grimdark angst that is just catnip to me.
If you could live in one fantasy universe, what would it be?
This is so hard and also a massive throwback, but I would love to live in the world of Inkheart. The magic of words is so interesting to me, and I could have a lot of fun there.
