COVER STORY: SOFTBILLS

AT THIS stage of the year, with the weather warming up and settling down, it is the time to go and visit bird gardens, zoos and tropical houses. These are always great places for inspiration and good ideas. I invariably come away wanting to add or change something in my own collection. They might be breeding ideas or feeding ideas that I come away with, though sometimes it is how the aviaries are landscaped and planted as well.
