Understanding show faults

BUDGERIGARS

THE current Budgerigar Society (BS) pictorial standard has been somewhat superseded by the progression of breeders who emphasise the factors that are written in the budgerigar standard of excellence. There have been influences by a number of breeders accentuating certain features and creating their own style of bird. Moreover, the influence of birds from overseas – mainly from Europe – has led to the progress of the exhibition budgerigar.

This islook nothing like the modern bird, yet were envied by all at the time. So progress has been made.
