BAKE MY DAY

Sandro Farmhouse is on a mission to share his love of baking, with even just a quick flick through his debut cookbook bound to leave you smitten by the line-up of delicious bakes.

And although he didn’t win The Great British Bake Off crown, Sandro recalls that he felt like a champion after reaching the final of the popular Channel 4 show in 2022.

“The finals were awesome. I wasn’t as nervous as I think most finalists were. I was more excited that for once, I didn’t get sent home, so there was no way to lose,” he says.

“After it went completely wrong for me in the technical bake, I focused on having fun.

“I was able to let go of any nervous or tense feelings about trying to get to the finals because I was there.”

With so many amazing bakes in the book, is there one that’s close to his heart?

“What a lot of people don’t know is that before baking, I used to love to design wedding dresses, thinking that would be my destiny,” Sandro says.

“When I started creating cakes, I really wanted to make them for special moments like weddings, so the wedding cake in the book is one that I feel super close to. It’s about love, celebration and cake.”
