The Vespa Primavera ET3 of 1976 followed on from its namesake, the 125cc Primavera that had first arrived back in 1967. This was just four years after the first of the smallframe range had been produced with the V50 and V90 Standard first series in 1963.
The ET3 was added to the name, indicating that the scooter was now running an electronic ignition. This was of the Ducati type that was also used on the later Vespa Rally machines, and to reinforce this point further it was also clearly stated within the panel stripe, again like its big brother, the Rally.
