Since its launch, Scootering magazine has never shied away from the developments in scooter tuning, particularly the Lambretta. If you look back to its very beginnings, there is a rich history of how it has evolved from the early days of cast iron barrels right up to the current monster engines we now see. Tales of a Group 4 race Lambretta achieving 25bhp, tuned TS1 cylinders capable of 30+bhp, the figures kept rising. Before long, 40 was the new 30 as skilled tuners worked to extract more power from these ancient casings, but where will it all end? The answer is no one exactly knows, even though the increments in power are becoming more difficult to find. One thing is for sure: owners and tuners alike will continue to strive for even more, and one man in Germany has thrown his hat into the Lambretta performance ring. His name is Danny Brandenburg.
