Having decided to drive to the Green Hell for this year’s 24 Hours of Nürburgring (my favourite motorsport event), and with a visit to chassis tuning specialist, Center Gravity (), lined up for the article published on page 80 of this issue, I thought it a good idea to kill two (three?) birds with one stone and book my 997 Carrera 4S into the Center Gravity workshop for chassis inspection and the application of personalised geometry. To be honest, it was a case of ‘if it ain’t broke’ — whereas), with the exception of the front control arms, which are Powerflex items preinstalled with polyurethane bushes. The appointment of Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs, meanwhile, was through choice, rather than necessity — to my mind, factory ride height made the car look like it was travelling around on stilts.
