AS WE grow long in the tooth, we may get childishly emotional about letting go of things we’ve become fond of.
There may be some reluctance to part with a chipped, leaky enamel saucepan with broken handles only because it belonged to grandma. Hence you may want to donate it to replace your loss with what is perceived as philanthropy.
Just remember, please don’t “donate” your garbage. It may be hard to think about your stuff as junk, especially the sentimental stuff we are finally ready to let go of. But quite often our donated clutter costs the thrift store money to haul off – money that
