Orsini named president of Confindustria
Emanuele Orsini, an entrepreneur from Emilia-Romagna, was elected president of Confindustria, a significant industrial association in Italy, on Thursday.
Orsini, who was born in Sassuolo in 1972, is the CEO of Sistem Costruzioni, a company that specializes in the food industry and wood construction. He comes from one of the small and medium-sized businesses that make up the foundation of the Italian economy rather than a large industrial group.
April 4 was his nomination date for president. For the next four years, Orsini will serve as Confindustria’s leader.
Confindustria accounts for more than 150,000 businesses, five million employees, and 34% of the Italian GDP.
