THE Sibiu-Agnita Railway in Transylvania, which first turned a wheel in 1896, continues to make progress as a heritage line.
At the beginning of June it ran full trains with its visiting Manning Wardle for two days, helping to fund the transportation of its own locomotive to Britain for overhaul.
Despite closure in 2001, the 4.3-mile section of the Sibiu-Agnita Railway between the traditionally Saxon villages of Cornatel and Hosman has seen steam trains at least once a year since 2010, with the exception of 2019 and 2020 ironically,
