Coral reefs are among the largest, most ancient, most diverse, and most threatened animal-built structures on the planet.. Thousands of organisms—including algae, crustaceans, fish, sharks, rays, sea turtles, and marine mammals—rely on coral reefs to reproduce, grow, feed, and survive.
