About this audiobook

Ema Percy has finally made it happen: she has moved to the beach town her family used to vacation in, which has always felt more like home than anywhere she's actually lived. Here, among the gift shops and crowds of tourists, she knows she'll finally find the inspiration she needs to actually finish her YA novel. Of course, she needs to make a living somehow until she makes it big as a writer, and that's how she finds herself being paid to get someone else to write their novel.

Best-selling author Alexander Cook still receives rave reviews from the public, but he lost all respect for himself long ago. He has moved to this tacky beach town hoping it will be a place where he can finally write something he loves as much as the debut novel that launched him to fame when he was still a teenager. So far, his attempts have failed, and he's seriously considering an early retirement, but then he hires Ema as his assistant and discovers that she won't let him get away with fading into the sunset. Her passion for writing (which he understands) and her love for the town (which he doesn't) lead him to discover some feelings of his own, and not just about writing.

When Alexander makes a misstep and Ema finally gets an opportunity that combines her two passions, it's not clear to either of them whether she still has room in her life for a snarky, spoiled, washed-up author.

Was a sweet romance little slow getting to the plot. Easy to listen to the narrator.

Just okay. Manner in which story was written was a bit off-putting however major issue is lack of story& character development. Felt more like an elongated short story. Wouldn’t recommend.
