I really enjoyed this book, I grew up in a family where my father figure was verbally abusive with every one of us and I can relate to the feelings the 3 brothers experienced, as myself felt that way at some point, each brother represent a very specific moment in time during my own father’s relationship as a grew up and this author can reflect on this contradiction between love and hate, the expectations not met and the pressure of never being enough.

So compelling. The characters are so finely crafted- as you get to know their vulnerability and flaws.
A deep understanding dive into what it means to be a first generation immigrant, the unspoken lines between us and them, prejudice and the tension between what we leave behind when we choose to become something else.
This is a brilliant premise- with love and self-loathing in every line- you'll want to keep going to know what happens next.
