What our readers think
Readers find this title to have a mix of positive and negative aspects. They appreciate the interesting concept and the beautiful writing, but some feel that there is too much going on and it can be confusing. The book has potential for improvement in terms of plot and character development. Despite these criticisms, readers are still excited for the next book in the series. Overall, the title shows promise and leaves readers wanting to know more.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5mmm.... I like the story and character but compared to Rin's previous work this book sounded a bit childish to me... the writing and plot are straight forward and is written beautifully, also the ending (which i knew would come) had me wanting to know more, therefore it's needless to say that i can't wait for the next book to see what happens with this bunch ^^

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5MUST-READ!!! Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before.
(Also, the audiobook narrator does a phenomenal job in speaking and pronouncing Tagalog.) - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book had a really interesting concept. But I think it was trying to do too much. There were too many fairytales that were being incorporated and it made it confusing. It also didn't allow for as much development of the plot, characters, and magic. I am going to continue with the series when the next one comes out, and I'm hoping to enjoy it a bit more.

I simply loved this cover and loved Rin Chupeco's other books so I thought I would give this one a go.
I loved that she put fairytales being twisted into our reality, and I super love characters that magic doesn't effect. Gives me hope that I might be one of those characters. ?
BUT I feel like there was a lot of filler in this book between action scenes. I'm sure this is just a case of first book welcome to the world, but I'm not sure. The parts that were good were so good but like I said the things in between.....kind of got glassy eyed trying to get through it. ??
But I love her stuff and her bone witch books just got better and better so I will definitely be reading the next one in hopes for a better outcome
and I already call it Mr. Nottingham is going to be my favorite.
