About this audiobook

Everyone has secrets. YouTube baking sensation April Masterson knows the secret to the perfect gooey brownies. Or how to make key lime squares that will melt in your mouth. But if you keep watching her offline, you may find out some other secrets about April. Secrets she’d rather you didn’t know. Like where did her son go when he snuck out of the house? What was she doing with the local soccer coach behind fogged windows? And what’s buried in her backyard? Everyone has secrets. Some are worse than others. April’s secrets are enough to destroy her. I’ll make sure of that.

I’m glad I stuck it out. The twists and surprises at the end were worth it. I struggled for the first while because April was driving me crazy. Her character came off so annoying and I struggled to “listen” to her.

I absolutely loved this! I haven’t read/listened to a single book by Freida McFadden that I didn’t love, and this is no exception. I devoured this in less than a day. I love how Freida leads us to think one thing, and then completely flips everything on its head.

When the twist happened, I thought we would get everything tied in a bow but I have more questions than answers. By the way, the narrator is bloody talented.

This app is asking me “What could have made this better?” Answer: and EDITOR!
There were so many things wrong with this book. Unreliable narrator (this is how this author wrap up almost all of her books that I’ve listened to), no redeemable characters, poor writing, and grammatical errors, just to name a few. Also, this author doesn’t know the difference between “bring” and “take.” The characters bring lots of things with them. “I’ll bring _ to the meeting. I’m pretty sure they were taking, not bringing.
Out of all of the things listed, the unreliable (first person) narrator is the worst. This is m sloppy and lazy. But we already know this about the author. She’s too lazy or ignorant to hire an editor.
April’s character was so stupid that I wanted to punch the author. Her attorney husband tells her not to sign anything when dealing with theft, and then she signs something. The break-in scene was so stupid. No one breaks into someone’s house when they have to pick their child up from school. They also don’t leave their shoes by the door.
Lastly: the narrator mispronounces so many words. She pronounces “abdomen” as “andomum.”
Obviously, I don’t recommend this book.

I’ve read everything by this author and like them all obviously, however the ending for this one didn’t seem to be completed. It cut off just a little too soon after going into so much detail all through the book.

The last 3rd of the book was much better than the rest. The main character kept making those obvious, poor decisions, but once the narrative switches, the story really gets good with a twist I didn’t see coming.

I don't rate books less than 2 stars. If I finished it then it must've been entertaining on some level. Honestly, I liked the confusion in the story but the ending was confusing and I believe unrealistic. Well, a lot of these books are unrealistic. It's not a bad read/listen. You'll keep listening because you want to find out who is actually behind these things so it's not a good book but I wasn't blown away.

Every time I think I’ve figured out one of her plot twists, I’m always left shocked by what actually happens. This one made me so angry to the point that I almost didn’t finish it, but I’m glad I did!

Great read so many twists and turns, oh and the ending is jaw dropping. It just took me awhile to get used to hearing the narrators voice at first it didn’t fit but as the book went on, you kinda get past it. Again AMAZING read ?

HORRIBLE!! What a waste of 8+ hours of my life.

The narrators voice was very annoying.

The characters were bland and none of them were really likeable.

If I had to hear about April baking ONE MORE STUPID THING I swear to God..... WE GET IT! SHE BAKES!

The ending left a LOT to be desired, and we didn't even get the REAL ending until the EPILOGUE!? WHAT!?

This was my 2nd Feida McFadden book, and I think it will be my last. It's like her books are written for teenagers. Very vanilla. The characters in both books have been dumber than a box of rocks.
