- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Ree Drummond gives her lovable hound Charlie a voice when he describes his day on the Drummond Ranch.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Meet Charlie. He's a ranch dog. Breakfast is his life, especially when bacon is involved. Charlie has dangly ears, floppy skin, and big fat paws. And he loves living in the country. That's because he works like a dog...fixing fences, gardening, and helping his family out on the range. Yep, it's all work, all the time for Charlie the ranch dog. In fact, he's probably working right now...Zzzzzzz.... A ranch dog's work is never done! Come along as Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman, introduces us to her beloved short-legged pioneer dog named Charlie.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I was supposed to receive this book for Early Reviewers, but alas, it never came. So when I saw it at our book fair I snatched it up.What drew me to this book was the cover illustration of Charlie. It reminded me so much of the farm dog my uncle has, and I wanted to see what the book was like. Charlie is a lovable dog who guards his ranch, sleeps, and eats. He reminds me very much of Hank the Cowdog, which is a yearly read in my classroom. This book will join the read aloud shelf, and will surely be well read/worn by my students for years to come.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Charlie the Ranch Dog is a very nice book about a dog who lives on a farm with a family and another, younger dog. Charlie is the farm dog and the family he lives with owns and operates the farm. Charlie is very happy and very proud of his family. He makes sure things go swimmingly for the day to day operations on the farm. Charlie believes that he works very hard on the farm, but in reality, he sleeps and eats, and sleeps and eats. One day, while the family and the younger dog were on the farm working, Charlie was at home sleeping when a fire broke out at the house. He rushes to alert the family and they are able to save the house. Everyone is very grateful for his heroics and everyone is very happy. A very good book to have in the classroom with sequels and prequels.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Cute book about a hound dog and his doggie friend, about thier adventures together.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a great story with good illustations, told by a ranch dog about his daily life and his companions. It's a god story of working together, companionship, and taking naps. Maybe for 2 to 6-year -olds at storytime?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Charlie the Ranch Dog by Ree DrummondThis audio book is about Charlie the dog who works daily on a ranch. Susie is his best friend, Daisy the cow, sweeping the porch steps is one chore he also does.He loves breakfast, and then helps Momma in the garden. He naps and then it's time for lunch already.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Charlie the ranch dog must be some kin to my favorite “head of ranch security”, Hank the cowdog. Charlie is in charge and he must be constantly on alert to dangers on the ranch…except, of course, when he must take time out for breakfast, and lunch, and a few naps now and then. Delightful.“The first thing we do every day is get out of bed early. Too early. Dark early.I’d better go wake up Suzie. She’s never been much of a morning dog.Well…I guess she was a morning dog today. There’s a first time for everything, I suppose.”
