About this audiobook
The crime scene is horrific: the corpse of a young actress, drained of blood and cut in two. LAPD Detective Sophie Manning’s new case is high-profile and difficult—there’s no evidence to work with. And it’s a disturbing echo of the infamous Black Dahlia killing. Sophie is burning the candle at both ends, desperate to catch the murderer before he strikes again, when she starts to experience inexplicable visits…from ghosts.
Bruce McFadden has a particular talent that can help Sophie—he can speak with the dead. As a consultant for the FBI’s paranormal team, the Krewe of Hunters, he’s been tasked with Sophie’s case and they’re forced to partner up. But Sophie doesn’t want his help, and she doesn’t want to share his peculiar skill. And she certainly isn’t ready for love, despite Bruce’s attentions.
As the killer taunts the police, Sophie and Bruce will discover that the threat is closer to home than they’d ever realized. Working side by side is the only way they’ll stop this deadly sequel.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Recommendation I will say say pickup the book it is exciting and interesting characters. The book is also paranormal storyline, with historical flair with just the right amount on romantic senses. It is the twenty five ? book of the series of the Krewe of Hunters.
It was based in LAWSANGELOUS and within the LAPD the detectives in charge are Sophia Manning and her partner Grand Vining. They were joined by one the McFadden brothers by the name Bruce McFadden. When Detective Sophie Manning and her partner Grant Vining respond to a crime scene in Hollywood, they know it will be an unusual one. Their team tends to handle the vicious and strange cases. But, this one, with a woman's body drained of blood, and dismembered, resembles one of the most famous unsolved murders in Hollywood, the Black Dahlia case. Elizabeth Short was brutally murdered and dismembered. Now, someone has killed a young actress who resembles Elizabeth Short, and the killing resembles the earlier death as well.
It's Sophie herself, though, that catches the attention of the McFadden family. She's the spokesperson for the case, and Bryan McFadden and his fiancé, Marnie, worked with Sophie when Marnie was threatened. Now, Bryan is preparing to attend training at Quantico for the Krewe of Hunters, so he can't offer help. Instead, they send Bruce, Bryan's brother and a private investigator who also sees ghosts. They all saw a ghost on the screen as Sophie addressed reporters, and they could tell she saw the ghost as well.
Sophie doesn't want to admit she's seeing the ghost of a journalist. The only other time she saw a ghost, her family put her into therapy. But, Bruce forces her to admit it when he claims he has a "gift". It will take time for her to trust him, but McFadden is determined to work with and protect the detective he's grown to admire. But as the case when on and she began to learn that it not only her that can see the ghost of Michael Thoreau. She becomes comfortable with her gift she was able to embrace the gift. She worked until she was taken but the killers did not count that Bruce McFadden was still in the cemetery. He was able to take charge and controlling the fighting and they end up killing both killers.
