About this audiobook

Effervescent, fearless, and self-assured, Selena Strauss is always the life of the party. Her buoyant personality is a pleasure to be around causing her to garner the attention of a hot commodity she's had her eyes on for a while. Being in the proximity of her walking wet-dream, Selena finds herself immensely infatuated with the possibility of their relationship flourishing into something much more. That is until the reality of her parent's divorce becomes the focal point of Selena's life, and suddenly Selena's not so sure that the happily ever after she's chasing is real.

Jordan Alexander Rose is unapologetic about his ninety-five percent success rate. As co-owner and lead partner of Rose and Garnett LLC, every move Jordan makes is calculated, methodical, and planned for a spirited outcome. That's why when the woman he's dating, Selena Strauss, begins to lose hope in love, Jordan sets out to win a case that involves more than just a sealed victory, but a succumbed submission of Selena's mind, body, and spirit. He's never been a man to give up and teaching Selena a lesson on true love will invoke her sweetest surrender.

I listened to this as an audiobook which is probably why I actually finished it but it was bad. The story line was okay but this reads like an undergraduate creative writing assignment. It’s as of the author has a brand new thesaurus sitting next to her keyboard. It was unnecessarily verbose, so many words or phrases used out of context or just flat out wrong. This was the literary equivalent of a toddler walking in its parent’s shoes.

Hmmm, I don’t want to ruin “The Sweetest Surrender: Falling For a Rose” (bk 8) for anyone however the recurring characters and characteristics that were once endearing to read/listen too have become unrealistically, annoying and repetitive. All the primary males are wealthy, aggressive, hyper viral, exceptionally endowed while the women though successful are coy, petite, insecure, emotionally juvenile damsels’. More so, were are the boundaries? There’s no indication Jordan knows or has a relationship with Salina’s parents. I can appreciate if Jordan was defending her over a random man or even an former boyfriend attacked Salina, but her father. IE: Jordan confronting Salina’s father and or orchestrating marriage counseling yet Salina’s distraught into delirium over the thought of her parents divorcing. REALLY! Those family dynamics are just none of his business! Yes, Ms. Norris is entitled to creative liberties, but I need a sabbatical from Stephanie Nicole Norris’ literary contributions.
