About this audiobook

A New York Times Bestseller!

Cruel Prince meets A Court of Thorns and Roses in this sexy, action-packed fantasy about a girl who is caught between two treacherous faerie courts and their dangerously seductive princes.

Brie hates the Fae and refuses to have anything to do with them, even if that means starving on the street. But when her sister is sold to the sadistic king of the Unseelie court to pay a debt, she'll do whatever it takes to get her back—including making a deal with the king himself to steal three magical relics from the Seelie court.

Gaining unfettered access to the Seelie court is easier said than done. Brie's only choice is to pose as a potential bride for Prince Ronan, and she soon finds herself falling for him. Unwilling to let her heart distract her, she accepts help from a band of Unseelie misfits with their own secret agenda. As Brie spends time with their mysterious leader, Finn, she struggles to resist his seductive charm.

Caught between two dangerous courts, Brie must decide who to trust with her loyalty. And with her heart.

What our readers think

Readers find this title to be a mix of positive and negative. Some readers enjoy the book and find it enjoyable, especially if they are fans of YA. They appreciate the narration and the relatability of the main character's poor choices. However, there are also negative reviews that criticize the character's decision-making and the excessive angst. Overall, the book has a decent world and good magic, but some readers feel that it could have been better if the angst and indecisiveness were reduced. The main character is impulsive, very emotional and young so she makes a lot of poor choices in her adventures. Many young readers will relate. As an older woman I find I'm doing a lot of eye rolling as I read. Good narration though. If you like YA, this is for you.

I tried to get into the story but felt it was too much cringe. I'm also an older reader so take that into account. This book just isn't for me.

Both books are awesome. Lexi Ryan is usually good but this series is my favorite so far. I only wish there was a third I still have questions.

The angst of the female main character left a poor taste in my mouth...I get the indecision but GAWD...it was way to much. Good magic and decent world and I liked to support characters....she spent too long portrayed as an angsty confused girl. She has supported, survived and fought for her sister for too long to be so indecisive and confused over boys who she has had zero prior commitment to. If there had been an established strong and confirmed connection before...I can see it, a little bit...but she had a crush. It was overkill. Bith books could have been combined if you cut 2/3 or the angst and indecisiveness out. I couldn't wait to get to the end...not the worst but could have been amazing.

My only critique is the characters decision making... but that's partly what makes YA books YA so no stars taken away for that. I loved this book all the way through. I can't wait to see how the story evolves
