This is my first audiobook (or even audiobook) that I have read or listened to by this author and it was a great start. To be honest when I was first listening I was so confused and thought this might turn into a contemporary since it was with humans for a long time, but the covers and stuff I had heard about this series pretty much telling me no way haha. I would have been happy either way, but I am loving this world that Sloane Murphy created and I am already on book 3 because I couldn't stop listening and devouring this series.

In this world, we have all the different paranormal factions and with all these creatures and sometimes animalistic tendencies there has to be a group that removes any threat to their way of life (especially keeping their world secret from the humans). The Hunters do that in the Shadow Walker Saga. They handle the lycans and dracule (sorry if I spell these wrong, have been listening to all of them haha) and apparently some skeletons in their closets that will be coming out in this series (a lot of them are not the goodie two shoes they try to appear to be). So through Remy (our main character) we get to see her past lives and all the delicious men she accrued over the years haha. She is one of the only Hunters who doesn't see the factions as separate/should be discriminating against, especially with the men she has mated to/bonded with over the various lives she has lived (Hunters get to keep coming back if they choose to). I had a tough time picking my favorite of her men in book 1, we got to experience some fabulous scenes in her dreams/flashbacks and get to meet them in this life and see how everything comes together. I loved Creek's adorableness and loyalty. I loved Kane's calming nature and fierceness love for his love. And Roman was the hothead but you couldn't get over how much he cared for his mate and would do anything for her. I also had really liked some of the side characters (until the end where some were extremely disappointing) and I can't wait to see how they grovel in future books.

I was shocked and shook by the ending, not gonna lie, and had to immediately starting listening to book 2. I am so happy this series is complete or these books would have had some major cliffhangers haha. But I am loving this concept and am so happy to see how many other stories are coming from this shared world. Great job by this author, you have a new superfan in me! I think the only reason I rounded down (I would have given this a 4.5 stars) is because of the flashbacks. When you listen you don't necessarily know it was going to a flashback - I assume the ebook and physical book show the differences but there isn't anything to help us audiophiles until something is mentioned that makes the listener realize its not present day anymore. Because of this I had to keep rewinding and trying to figure out/guess when the author diverged into a past memory.

In terms of narration, Sarah is a one click listen for me. I know she does a fabulous job with her performances and I like she changes her ton for the guys and tries to keep their accents/slight changes consistent. I loved her Roman rendition the most of the guys ❤️ I do listen at 1.5X speed, since Sarah sometimes is too slow for my normal listening ears, but once she is on 1.5 I have no complaints.

Definitely pick up this series, you will fall for this supernatural and paranormal RH series (that looks to be complete now too, with some spinoff series popping out left and right haha). Highly recommend!
