A solid alternate history novel! The book has a nice moving plot, with some interesting insight into the war and era. What I like most about Conroy is that major historical figures also play major roles in his novels. Recommend to any alternate history or Civil War buff.

An alternate history book involving the Trent incident which brings the British into the civil war on the side of the confederacy. Overall a well done book although the confederacy side is left largely out of the story with little character development and in my opinion somewhat misrepresented.
