About this audiobook
A small group of people brought together by chance have survived in a shelter on an island near the coast of South Carolina, but although they are safe, they cannot bring themselves to sit by and wait for all of civilization to die. They are forced to make the hard choices that include leaving the shelter when it is for the good of others.
Out of necessity, they make the decision to bring a father and his daughter, Tom and Molly, into their shelter. Not content to simply rescue the pair, they believe it is possible to reunite them with their family in Alabama. Driven by a feeling of moral responsibility to do more than just exist, they set out on a risky quest to accomplish the impossible by traveling through a devastated world.

What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a mixed bag. Some love the realistic environment and the thrilling narrative that keeps them on the edge of their seats. They appreciate the well-developed characters and the skillful narration. However, others find it difficult to get into the series due to some unbelievable elements and lack of common sense. They also criticize the consistent convenience and lack of diversity in the personalities of the characters. Overall, this book offers an engaging zombie apocalypse story, but it may not appeal to everyone.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Really trying to get into this series but it's so difficult. between the unbelievability of some stuff and the lack of common sense in others. It makes it really difficult. Example: if you come across a Russian Corvette unloading troops on American soil and as you pass a military base in a sea plane and talk to The soldiers below on the radio wouldn't you let them know about the Russians?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Bob Howard’s series of these books are worthy of a TV series like the walking dead.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved Books 1 and 2. Looking forward to the rest of the series. The author really makes the characters seem so real. And the narrator is really great. How fast he can change from one voice to another is a real gift. His voice is very pleasing and can be rough when he needs to put emphasis on what he is portraying. The last hour of this book was a real nail biter. Loved how the author switched back and forth between the two episodes that were being played out - really kept the adrenaline flowing near the end.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5realistic environment. lacks personality diversity. nice strangers nice Russians. consistent convenience in every single situation. it's okay if a character dies...... survival horror needs it
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Zombie apocalypse: convenience edition. Everything always works out for the main characters, they are "lucky" every single step of the way, and someone always knows the perfect way to get out of a mildly tense situation. They can figure out exactly what is happening in every situation like they are some kind of high class detectives, it loses a lot of appeal after happening over and over again.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love zombie apocalypse books and this one had my attention from start to finish I strongly recommend ????.
