      Following a devastating betrayal that cost him everything, billionaire and cover-operative (yes, that is not a mistake), Jason MacBain has closed himself off to emotion. That is until he meets Isabella Moretti at a charity event. The survivor of a horrific attack, Bella is determined to reclaim her life one step at a time beginning with Jason. But Bella's stalker has found her again and will stop at nothing to finish the job he began.

      Although the premise has potential and Jason and Bella are appealing characters, the end result is disappointing mainly due to the telling rather than showing style of writing.

      To begin with, Jason and Bella's initial meeting establishes an intriguing love-hate relationship that quickly turns into insta-luv. The change is so sudden that it's enough to give the reader whiplash.

      Bella starts out as strong, resilient and determined yet rapidly devolves into a weepy damsel in distress in need of a strong man (or men as her overbearing older brothers get in on the act too) to save her.

      Jason, who is supposedly stoic and emotionless, transitions from a man unwilling to risk his heart to one obsessed with claiming a woman he just met. His domineering alpha tendencies and intense jealousy of every man in Bella's vicinity gets very old very quickly.

      While the stalker plot is suspenseful, it takes a back seat to the romance.

      Overall, the author's writing style is not for me and I will not be continuing with the series.
