About this audiobook
Many young, brave Americans were killed or seriously wounded in these hills and valleys in the belief they were helping the Vietnamese obtain freedom and peace. Although our altruistic beliefs might have gone astray, it was my honor serving with these fine men and women. I wrote this book in honor of them and to keep their memory alive.

Readers find this title to be a heartfelt and honest autobiography about the Vietnam War. The stories shared by the author resonate with readers who have personal connections to the war, evoking memories and emotions. However, some readers feel that the narrator's voice does not match the tone of the story, which detracts from the overall experience. Despite this, the book is appreciated for its portrayal of true heroes and the author's willingness to share his experiences.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5They got the wrong person to narrate it, he didn’t sound like he ever had a uniform on, sounded too effeminate.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Thanks God, you're alive! and I believe He has a reason for you, very much appreciate for sharing these stories during your services in VN.
It's also brought me back Tet offensive, I was living there in Danang city. At 9 years old, me and my next brother were curious young boys and went to see the VC body counts at the helicopter landing zone near the army Headquarter by the bridge.
My oldest brother was in Khe sanh hills, he came back home in one piece after bloody battle 1972. I'm sorry for the lost your friends and others that listed in The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I knew Mike from my time with Customs in Boston. I never knew of his service and sacrifice in Vietnam. My oldest brother was an infantry man in Nam. When I listened to this story I heard him talking. The stories he told me long ago where much the same. True heroes!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One of the more honest autobiographies about the Vietnam War.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The reader does not do the story justice and makes the author sound like a wimp.
