What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a great horror story with vivid depiction and no holding back. They loved the characters and the understanding of the creature's thoughts and behaviors. The action is constant and there are never any dull moments. Some readers wished for more character development and a twist in the plot, but overall, the book is well done. However, there is one negative review that found the book boring with dull characters and inconsistent continuity. Despite this, the book is not terrible and there are better books in the genre.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I generally enjoy books in the genre of The Cavern, but I found this book boring. The characters were incredibly dull, and I can barely remember three characters’ names two hours after finishing the book.
While the book had potential, it simply did not have the atmosphere as, say, some of Greig Beck or Katie Berry’s books. The continuity also seemed all over the place, and the editing could have been tighter.
The way the book ends hints at a potential sequel, but I will not be interested. While the book isn’t terrible, there are better books in this genre to be read. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Well done book and narration. Great horror story, vividly depicted with no sign of holding back. Loved the characters, wish there was just a little more development to make your heart scream when they met their demise but that doesn't mean it impacted them or the story any less. Loved the creature and the way the author gave you understanding of its thoughts/behaviors with the start of its development of human understanding, speech etc. Action straight away that keeps going with never a dull moment. 1 more star if the author would have twisted up the plot a bit more, story line has been done before with the difference being this one was done very well.
