NNEDI OKORAFOR, born to Igbo Nigerian parents in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 8, 1974, is an author of fantasy and science fiction for both adults and younger readers. Her Tor.com novella Binti won the 2015 Hugo and Nebula Awards; her children's book Long Juju Man won the 2007-08 Macmillan Writer's Prize for Africa; and her adult novel Who Fears Death was a Tiptree Honor Book. She is an associate professor of creative writing and literature at the University at Buffalo.

The Afrofuturist setting is appealing and interesting. And the book starts well. But ultimately the world building is weak. It's never clear what the stakes are or what the main character can and can't do with her powers. So there's a lot of deus ex machina. The reading is good.

If I had to be aggressively precise, it's a 3.5 only because I felt the audiobook was difficult to follow. I loved the narration and felt submerged in the culture and atmosphere, but it was easy to get lost because the names and other things were not common to me. However, the story as a whole and the things that happened caught my attention every time I listened to the book. That being said, I know the book is good and I was entertained, I just think having the physical book would've been beneficial in following the storyline completely.

Wow I loved this so much! The characters have depth. They are interesting and the story is fascinating.

The narrator was perfect and they have a lovely voice that made listening easy.

Looking forward to sequels being added the audio Library.

I enjoyed it as usual from Nnedi it’s always interesting. The narrative about Ultimate Corp is particularly reflection inducing.
