About this audiobook
What if the Trinity we've been taught is not the Trinity of the Bible? In this groundbreaking book, Matthew Barrett reveals a shocking discovery: we have manipulated the Trinity, recreating the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in our own image. We have distorted the biblical, orthodox Trinity to justify our countless social agendas.
With clarity, creativity, and conviction Barrett mines the scriptures as well as the creeds and confessions of the faith to help you rediscover the beauty and simplicity of our Triune God. Barrett introduces you to The Dream Team, the best of the church fathers, who teach us how to interpret the Bible in a way that avoids past and present trinitarian heresies. You will also be surprised to learn that what you believe about the Trinity has untold consequences for salvation and the Christian life. To truly know God, you must meet the One who is simply Trinity.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A helpful survey of classical theology and its view of the Trinity. Barrett argues for both the simplicity of God and the trinity of God - hence, Simply Trinity. His case is convincing. His attack of EFS seems a little too personal at times (especially given his close relationship to Ware previously) and his advocacy of the covenant of redemption could be more guarded given its possibility of undermining God's simplicity (a charge he denies).
I had hoped that this would be a book clear enough to give to laypeople but his approach is often quite bogged down in historic terminology (sometimes in Latin). While this has the advantage of maintaining a close link to the creeds, it also communicates a wooden understanding of how we ought to articulate creedal thoughts in contemporary language. Thus, his work of translating orthodox ideas into contemporary parlance is unfortunately quite limited.
In short, a helpful look at orthodox trinitarian belief but one that is quite limited in its target audience. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a deep yet accessible advocacy for original Trinitarianism. Love it! Best I've read yet.
