About this audiobook

Don't let her age fool you. Maud may be nearly ninety, but if you cross her, this elderly lady is more sinister than sweet.

Just when things have finally cooled down for eighty-eight-year-old Maud after the disturbing discovery of a dead body in her apartment in Gothenburg, a couple of detectives return to her doorstep. Though Maud dodges their questions with the skill of an Olympic gymnast a fifth of her age, she wonders if suspicion has fallen on her, little old lady that she is. The truth is, ever since Maud was a girl, death has seemed to follow her.

In these six interlocking stories, memories of unfortunate incidents from Maud's past keep bubbling to the surface. Meanwhile, certain problems in the present require immediate attention. Luckily, Maud is no stranger to taking matters into her own hands . . . even if it means she has to get a little blood on them in the process.

Maud is one of a kind. She's lived a long time, most of her friends are gone and so has her entire family. Her life hasn't been easy but Maud has never been helpless and she's quite without conscience. This is a fun read and if you like little old lady sociopaths. Each chapter deals with a separate episode in her life. Also you've never been to South Africa you will certainly want to go.

This author is so creative. Her characters, including Maude, are engaging and realistically presented. Dialog is crisp. The plot is intriguing. As an elderly woman myself, Maude is an especially, if irascible, role model.

Entertaining sequel to An Elderly Lady Is Up To No Good. Makes me want to visit South Africa. More stories of how Maud gets away with murder - literally! I’m glad Maud has a happy ending even if she is a wicked old lady.

Ooooooh that white saviour complex is a bit too much at the end. Also please check for pronunciation of African names...

This book read a little bit differently than the first one. There were things I liked and the things I didn't like. In the first half, we see Maud reflecting on her life and she discloses other incidents of a sociopathic nature. (Including a death she caused earlier on in her adult life.) The second half is her African Safari trip and she finds compassion for another traveler and a family to support. A nice quick read.

It’s impossible to not love Maud despite the trail of bodies she leaves in her wake. At 88, she is one old lady you do not want to mess with. Smart as a whip and stronger than most 35 yr olds and she has a heart of gold. I thoroughly enjoyed this second installation of stories following some of Maud’s unfortunate encounters.
