What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a mix of good and bad. Some reviewers found it hard to get engaged with the story and didn't care much about the characters. However, others loved the audiobook version, praising the narrator's voice choices and the well-described writings. They found the story line great, with suspense and movement that kept them hooked. Overall, it is considered entertaining and somewhat original.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not bad. It was entertaining despite what other have said. It's kind of original in my opinion.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Nothing to write home about. Constantly arguing townsfolk, water monsters and shotguns. Not bad, but I've found it hard to get engaged with the story. Didn't care much about the characters. Writing style was good, but that's about it. The monsters got revealed way too early, and it pretty much killed the suspense.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Omg, I loved this audiobook...from the gravely voices of the narrator to the well described writtings, the author and narrator gave us a stellar audiobook. The narrator's voice choices were great, lending to the feel of a throwback town almost forgotten. Even the the creatures noises the narrator made gave an ominous feel and totally added to the horror vibe. Well done. The story line was great, the characters were wisely developed with very humanistic tendencies, even depraved human tendencies. There was so much suspense and movement, I could not stop listening to it. This narrator/author combination is great. Go for it.
