      This was a really good little story! Full of mystery, family drama, tense interactions, and ultimately, horror. The story was a good kind of slow burn toward a satisfying conclusion. This story elicited all of the big emotions: fear, love, happiness, loss, and telling it through the eyes of a young boy learning to grow and having to come to age as he did in the story was the perfect way to tell it. I think the author was able to balance the speed of the story with building anticipation/dread/interest really well to keep the reader engaged throughout.

      Would love to read a follow-up novella bout the future too.
