This book had the potential to be 5 stars but just didn't quite get there. Now, with that said, this book captures you from the beginning. I really loved this book and can't wait for the next. The sex was hot, hot, hot!!!! Mmmmm, love me a dirty talker! I really like how they met and how he was very possessive, yeah, I like me some alpha, possessive hotness!!!

Not quite sure what to think of this book. I can't say I liked it but I can't say I hated it either, hence the three stars. It's very different from the usual romance books. Lots of BDSM in the first half of the story, which doesn't do it for me. I didn't care for all the profanity either. I'm a bit confused by the epilogue, but look forward to reading the next book. I'm hoping the next book will clear up the confusion.

I liked this book. At times I loved it. At other times I hated it.

I'll say this right up front -- I didn't like the way Matt spoke to Hannah. Not in bed, not in the car, not in general. And there was a Hannah line that stuck with me because, to me, it was so unbelievable. She said she loved the way he humiliated her in bed. She used that word "humiliated." And I didn't buy it. I've never met a woman who wanted to be humiliated. Period. Maybe that's naiveté speaking...but I'm not all that naive.

That point aside, there were parts of this book that were lyrical. Others were coarse and vile.

But the story surprised me and it flowed well. The pacing was great, the characterization was deep enough for the purposes of this story... I wondered a bit about Hannah, but I'm guessing M. Pierce is a dude. (Lots of description of the men's clothing brands, etc... nothing on her.) There was a strange obsession with furniture brands at one point... but none of that little niggling thinking took away from the fact that this was an enjoyable, well-written tale. It was deep and clever, and parts of it pop up as I go through my regular life.

I especially liked the irony of the author name and the storyline paralleling reality to some degree. Got a little lost in the epilogue...

This book was kind of weird, but I liked it. I expected a little more in the dirty talk department after all the raving I heard... don't get me wrong, the dirty talk was good, but a little repetitive. I felt like this book was kind of all over the place, but I think that was due to Matt's bipolar personality, so I'm thinking maybe it was supposed to be that way?! Anyway, I would have like to see more of a relationship between Matt and Hannah rather than sex/lust/obsession, but I still liked the book and will be reading the next one. About the epilogue, all I have to say is WTF?! Not sure what is going on, but I did notice the actual author's name is M. Pierce... coincidence?!

The blurb had me at “meet online” so of course I was intrigued by this book and had to read it.

The story was nice (I wasn’t crazy about it, but it was nice) and the writing was above average, quite good in fact, although I found that the dialogues didn’t stand out that much and weren’t that original, but the prose had a nice flow and sometimes was even quite beautiful.

So the blurb wasn’t lying because Matt and Hannah do in fact meet online, but I was a little disappointed to see that they have just a few interactions over the net before taking the relationship to the next level. Also, it was all very clichéd, I mean the guy met on the internet could have been a 17-year-old fat student and the girl and old, wrinkly lady, but of course they aren’t, they are both young and gorgeous, the guy is super handsome, rich and famous and, of course, is into kinky stuff (because nowadays every regular Joe is into dom-sub kinky stuff, don’t tell me you didn’t know). The girl is beautiful and quirky (although we only know that because she says once that she's a gamer, and a nerd because she reads a lot.. uhm, okay), also, they end up living in the same state, what are the odds? But I mean this is a romance book, what did you expect? Also the guy is a control freak and a CHEATER, so I didn’t like him that much at the beginning (I only grew to like him toward the end).

I’d say I saw this book divided into 3 parts, the first part where they meet online, the second part where their relationship develops further – and let’s stop here for a minute. I found this part to be a bit boring, it just wasn’t interesting to see their interactions, sexual encounters and all that, and at times the only thing that kept me going was knowing that sooner or later all that would crumble down and I wanted to see that (because it was clear that things would crumble down at some point), which was the last part of the book, and thankfully made up for all the previous boring scenes. Frankly I did not expect the story to take a turn like that, but I was pleased that it did. It answered quite a few questions and things that didn’t seem to make sense were finally explained.

The book didn’t really end with a cliffhanger, and if it wasn’t for the very last page (which is the only clue we have that hints that the story isn’t over), this could have very well been a standalone. I don’t know if that one last page made me curious enough to read book 2, I guess we’ll see.

3.5 stars... Don't hate me for my rating lol

OK so there was a lot of hype about this book and I was sucked right into it all like everyone else was. The difference was I actually did not enjoy this book so much. Don't hate me, Don't shoot me. Let me Explain why I did not like this one.

First off The characters where well not all what I expected them to be.

    Your night owl Matt.

For a huge part of this book he

One thing I truly dislike is liars.

then we get to sex and I was like WTF did he just say......

That's nice baby, I like that noise. I like those embarrassing noises. You yowl like a cat when I fuck you hard, and you whine and beg like a dog. You're grunting like a pig. Does that mean you like this?" I shoved my finger in another centimeter. Hannah shuddered. "Where's my noise? Come on baby, start grunting. If you don't make this good for me I won't fuck you.

^^^^^^^^^^^ totally disrespectful. Anyone likes a little kinky talk in the bedroom but that right there is Disgusting.... enough said.....

then we have our little bird.....

although I liked her in the beginning it did not last long.

she got so twisted up in Matt who she hardly knew or knew anything about that it simply drove me crazy. Who falls in love with someone they met online and no nothing about, but can't live without them ....

I'm sorry this story just did nothing for me really. I hold nothing against the author. This book was just not for me.

I waited a long time to read this book because so many were upset with the ending, BUT I am just eager to see exactly what happened to Matt and Hannah. This story is told in a very unique way and I loved it. The normal was turned extraordinary and the extraordinary was even more compelling. I love how M. Pierce shared from both points of view and gave us a little extra feel of both characters. Matt and Hannah have similar struggles to other book characters, but they cross thru the pages and made me feel so much for them!

Matt & Hannah's sparks will burn through your e-reader! They are ridiculously attracted to each other. Matt's sexual preferences (which only come out with Hannah) might scare some away but Hannah loves it. Matt has some many things he's keeping from Hannah and just when he is ready to tell her everything it blows up. It gets ugly real ugly for both of them but Matt spirals down so far Hannah's not sure if he will ever make it back. The ending is fabulous and I should have know it wasn't going to end all warm and fuzzy since it's a Trilogy but I still believed until I read the epilogue! WTF? OMG seriously what just happened!

"I felt the wildest urge to roll him over and kiss my way down his golden treasure trail."

OH MY!! What the hell did I just read? Taken, anonymous boy meets girl online as writing partners. She doesn't know he's a famous author (who hides his identity from the world). His rules are simple: no personal info, but he keeps breaking that rule over and over because he can't help himself. Oh, did I mention he's TAKEN? They meet face to face when he takes his rabbit out for a walk (yes, you read that right) but she has no idea who he is! AND THEN... things get out of hand.

Roped me in, held me captive... I didn't read this book, I devoured it. And then... AND THEN... the epilogue. W. T. F?????

I need the next book, like yesterday!
