About this audiobook
Michael Wolff, author of the bombshell bestseller Fire and Fury, once again takes us inside the Trump presidency to reveal a White House under siege.
Just one year into Donald Trump’s term as president, Michael Wolff told the electrifying story of a White House consumed by controversy, chaos, and intense rivalries. Fire and Fury, an instant sensation, defined the first phase of the Trump administration; now, in Siege, Wolff has written an equally essential and explosive book about a presidency that is under fire from almost every side.
At the outset of Trump’s second year as president, his situation is profoundly different. No longer tempered by experienced advisers, he is more impulsive and volatile than ever. But the wheels of justice are inexorably turning: Robert Mueller’s “witch hunt” haunts Trump every day, and other federal prosecutors are taking a deep dive into his business affairs. Many in the political establishment—even some members of his own administration—have turned on him and are dedicated to bringing him down. The Democrats see victory at the polls, and perhaps impeachment, in front of them. Trump, meanwhile, is certain he is invincible, making him all the more exposed and vulnerable. Week by week, as Trump becomes increasingly erratic, the question that lies at the heart of his tenure becomes ever more urgent: Will this most abnormal of presidencies at last reach the breaking point and implode?
Both a riveting narrative and a brilliant front-lines report, Siege provides an alarming and indelible portrait of a president like no other. Surrounded by enemies and blind to his peril, Trump is a raging, self-destructive inferno—and the most divisive leader in American history.

What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a mix of interesting stories and background accounts of events. Some readers appreciate the insight into the chaos of the job and the neutral account of events. However, others feel that the book is more focused on specific events and lacks the mindfulness of the first book. Overall, the book is considered a finely written update on the subject matter.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This belongs in the fiction section for certain.
Yes it does.4 people found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The human factors and personality dysfunctions are described as if I am an interactive participant. Background account of events clarified what some press release did not elaborate. Excellent book!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The main reason I read this book was the first book Michael Wolff wrote, it gave a good insight into the chaos of the job and in a way a good and neutral account of some of the events that took place and in a way I found relevant. I can’t say the same about this one though, it’s really more focused on specific events. Reading this felt like the times I hang out with my buddies and we all talk about how crazy someone we knew was, I didn’t feel it was as mindful of a read as the first book, on to John Bolton’s book next.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Another book by a nut. None of this is true.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Interesting. Mostly known. What was not known needs some heft and references.
One thing that "confuses" me, really just a question... We have all these reports of Trump going wild with rage in meetings....yet, while a complete nutter, he seems more or less not raging in public. He gets mad, and won't answer a straight question... Of course. And he sputters a lot. But we haven't seen the reported outbursts. Would like to have more hard detail on that.
And that is the book. A lot of interesting stories that may or may not be true , or are true from some POV... But we don't know really. Take it at face value... Trump is who you think he is. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Notably less analytical than the riveting and ‘Fire and Fury’, nonetheless a finely written book which brings the reader up to date until March 2019.
