About this audiobook
Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis, has absolutely no memory of who he is. They tell him he must have fallen overboard, and the only person he seems to recognize is the lovely Georgianna-who strikes a chord of familiarity . . . and the faintest memory of heating his blood. Only now this inelegant, poorly dressed woman claims to be his wife!
But the truth is, Georgianna is finally getting her revenge. The dashing earl will work off the money he owes her and no one will be the wiser. Except the longer he stays with her and her younger sisters, the more it feels like he belongs there. And that perhaps he'd find a forever place in Georgianna's heart . . . at least, until his memory returns . . .
Contains mature themes.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Well, that was fun! There are a few tropes happening here in this book - reformed rake/fake marriage/amnesia, with a touch of mistaken identity and Cinderella thrown in for good measure. When we meet Daniel Rutherford, the Earl of Stannis, he appears to be ripe for reformation - he's aging out of the rake role, at least mentally. It's been fun, but he recognizes the time has come to fully embrace all the responsibilities of his title, and to stop avoiding those that don't amuse him (specifically, marriage). Enter Georgianna Heyford, a gentleman's daughter who is well aware of his reputation, but circumstances dictate that she must earn a living to support herself and her household. And her most marketable skill is her talent and passion for cooking. When she's hired to cater a his birthday party on his yacht, she knows it's an opportunity she can't turn down. Her food is a huge hit - but a case of mistaken identity leads to her being fired. Daniel subsequently falls overboard and is washed ashore with no memory of who is is, and Georgianna sees a way to exact some revenge, or at least get back what she feels she's owed. It's a romance, so we know where the story is going, it's just a matter of how they'll get there. And this was an enjoyable journey indeed.
