About this audiobook

A haunted Irish castle, international jewel thieves, and a hotel fire—New York Times bestselling author Carol Higgins Clark has sent Regan and Jack Reilly on a honeymoon like no other.

Private Investigator Regan Reilly and her new husband Jack, head of the NYPD Major Case Squad, are off to Ireland. But their very first night at romantic Hennessy Castle is interrupted by a fire alarm that distracts hotel employees from the theft of a valuable antique lace tablecloth from the castle’s memorabilia room.

A taunting note is left by the culprits—a notorious pair of jewel thieves whom Jack has been pursuing for over a year. Disguised as an elderly couple, they had checked out in the midst of the mayhem. Regan’s cousin Gerard Reilly, a Galway resident, is eager to help with the hunt, but their search takes as many twists and turns as the winding country roads of the Emerald Isle.

With Carol Higgins Clark’s unique talent for creating quirky characters, this is a classic caper that will keep you laughing, turning pages, and maybe even believing in ghosts.

Laced was another great read in Clark's Regan Reilly series. After the events in Hitched, Regan and Jack wanted a quiet honeymoon. Naturally things do not go as planned. I really love how Clark keeps her two main characters interesting while at the same time introducing quirky secondary characters for each book in the series. Laced has one couple bad on their luck thanks to a lie, a superstitious hotel employee/painter, a thieving couple out for themselves, and several other colorful characters. Clark introduces several plots throughout the book, and the fun part is trying to guess how everything will tie together. The book has many twists and turns along with a dash of humor making this an easy fun read. I'm looking forward to reading another Regan Reilly adventure.

It was a good book. In this book Reagan Reilly is on her honeymoon with her husband Jack in Ireland. The next morning after arriving in Ireland, someone steals a valuable lace tablecloth that was made many years previous to this date. Come to find out, the people that stole the tablecloth have been on the run from Jack (he's a cop) for the past year. Reagan and Jack decide to investigate this crime and hopefully find the two who stole the tablecloth and find the tablecloth in good condition.

This is the first book in the Regan Reilly Mystery series that I have read and I found it a fun and amusing caper set in Ireland. Laced is not a traditional whodunit mystery where a detective patiently sorts through a bevy of clues and suspects in order to solve crime; rather Jack and Regan are trying to catch two disguised and hidden jewel thieves whom they are already familiar with from their work in America. The point of view changes a lot in this novel which allows you to learn more about the thieves and other characters in the book. There is also a minor ghostly element in that the valuable, antique lace tablecloth that the thieves steal from Hennessy castle was made by May Reilly who supposedly haunts the castle because she was cheated and never paid for that tablecloth. Apparently this ghost is angered when this tablecloth is stolen. Short chapters, lots of action, and plenty of situational humor made this an enjoyable read and I'll certainly be looking for the next book in the series.

I left the series for a while. I was glad when she added the character of Jack and I really enjoy the series again.

Private Investigator Regan Reilly and her husband, Jack, head of the Major Case Squad in New York City, have just gotten hitched! They've headed to Hennessy Castle to begin their lives together. But Hennessy Castle is hardly relaxing! Many strange things happen after they discover a tombstone with they name Reilly on it. Turns out May Reilly, who died in 1822, was a talented lacemaker who made an exquisite tablecloth for a banquet and was never paid. Legend has it that May has haunted the castle ever since. Later on they meet up with a young American Irish couple who have started a business selling Irish memorabilia, but on this trip they are picking up something they've had commissioned.Filled with Irish history and lore, and a cast of quirky characters on both sides of the Atlantic, Laced will take you on a journey that will keep you laughing, turning pages, and maybe even believing in ghosts!I love reading Carol Higgins Clark Regan Reilly mysteries!! I can't get enough of them and they are a real page turner. I can finish one of her books in less than a week!!! They are a must read for mystery fans especially.
