About this audiobook
Get ready, because Cowgirl Kate and her horse Cocoa are back for more adventures on the range. These two best friends love to spend time together-they just don't always see eye to eye. When Kate decides it's time for Cocoa to get new horseshoes, her favorite horse has other ideas. And Kate might have to get sneaky to convince Cocoa to get new footwear. Then while riding the range counting the cows, they notice a calf is missing. Perhaps he's playing hide and seek, which is just what Cocoa wants to do anyway! Kate also practices her roping skills-on Cocoa. Finally, the two even go swimming. But Kate isn't quite ready to make the giant leap into the farm's pond. This charming follow-up to the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award winner Cowgirl Kate and Cocoa is a hit with kids, parents and critics. Partners offers children valuable lessons about friendship. "This is a pleasing choice as either a beginning reader or a picture book to read aloud."-Booklist

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5More fun for fans of Cowgirl Kate and her irrepressible horse Cocoa with the staunch friendship between the two friends as the focus. Cocoa's love of food and eating is played for more laughs but we get to see more cow herding techniques and even some roping. This is a strong entry in the series with Lewin's illustrations ably giving life to the duo.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5One of a series of short chapter books about the adventures a girl and her horse face daily. In the first chapter, the horse wishes to wear boots instead of horseshoes. The second, a small calf goes missing and the girl and horse try to find it; however, the horse gets sidetracked by corn. In the third chapter, the girl is trying to catch the animals with a rope but she always misses. She then tries to practice with the horse but cannot catch him. It was after she said there was Timothy grass nearby that the horse stopped, and she was able to catch him in the rope. In the fourth chapter, the calf went missing again; however, after her mother called her, she went back to the herd. On their way back to the farm, the horse decided to jump into a pond.
