- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really liked this book, but Muller lost me with the ending. SPOILER: The culprit was someone that hadn't been talked about in forever and never talked about all that much during the entire book. It seemed to come out of nowhere and seemed really contrived. Other than that, the characters really showed development and I enjoyed that. Plus the story was compelling. Just that ending. Didn't work for me.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5San Francisco PI Sharon McCone, now the head of her own small firm, is investigating hate letters sent to her brother-in-law, country music megastar Ricky Savage. During the investigation, Sharon and her partner, Hy Ripinsky, find Ricky and Sharon's sister, Charlene, are on the verge of divorce. When Sharon digs into Ricky's past, she discovers people who might want to hurt him because of questionable acts on his part. Sharon's associate and friend Rae Kelleher is involved in the case -and with Ricky. This is really fast-paced with a lot of action. At the same time it explores stardom, family life, and conflicting loyalties with a lot of emotional content.
