About this audiobook
July 1910. Lady Hardcastle and her tireless sidekick Flo have finally embarked on a long-overdue seaside break. But just as they’re wavering between ice creams and donkey rides, their fellow guests start to go missing—and the duo find themselves with a hysterical hotel manager and a case to solve.
The first to disappear is Dr Goddard, a scientist doing something terribly top-secret for the government. Gone too are his strongbox and its mysterious contents. By the time Lady Hardcastle has questioned the horde of international guests, her number-one suspect has been dispatched in grisly circumstances—and then the others start vanishing too.
As the case begins to look like a matter of national security, Lady Hardcastle takes advice from her brother in the secret service. But could there be an even more personal connection at play? To solve the case, Lady Hardcastle may face a shocking discovery of her own.

T E Kinsey grew up in London and read history at Bristol University. He worked for a number of years as a magazine features writer before falling into the glamorous world of the Internet, where he edited content for a very famous entertainment website for quite a few years more. After helping to raise three children, learning to scuba dive and to play the drums and the mandolin (though never, disappointingly, all at the same time), he decided the time was right to get back to writing. Death Around the Bend is the third in a series of mysteries starring Lady Hardcastle. You can follow him on Twitter—@tekinsey—and also find him on Facebook: www.facebook.com/tekinsey.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I have read two of these books from this series and they were great! However, listening too the narrator and hearing this book spoken in the British voice was spectacular!!!
Every character had a distinct pattern to the voice the narrator gave to them. Definitely worth reading this series but future readers give a listen instead-you will not be disappointed???? - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5cute not too cut whimsical story. good period info. especially enjoy/value author's historical notes at book's end. great narration.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Good narration. Many interesting characters. But very silly conversations. Highly casual and flimsy responses to many dead bodies. Just filling up many pages without any thing solid. Unrealistic conversations.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5July 1910 and finally Lady Hardcastle has agreed to Florence's pleading for a holiday. So they are off to Weston-super-Mare for a week and staying at the Steep Holm View Hotel. Unfortunately instead of a rest they are asked by the manager Mr Valentine Hillier, knowing their reputation, to investigate the disappearance of a guest. But it gets more complicated when the first body is discovered.
Enjoyable diaglogue between the main characters makes for another delightful cozy mystery in this series.
A NetGalley Book - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Flo and Lady H are off to the seashore and are immediately invested by a gaggle of spies and a mysterious box. By a variety of means, the spies dwindle down but the missing persons are still missing. Warned off by her brother, Lady Hardcastle, with her diminutive but lethal companion, are on the hunt. Lively, witty and interesting, this series continues nicely.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What a splendid read!! This is the 6th book in the Lady Hardcastle series but my first and, after reading this terrific mystery, I intend to track down the previous books in the series, and soon.Lady Hardcastle and her maid and friend, Flo, are on vacation at a seaside hotel when the other guests start dying off.Humor and a clever mystery follow.Highly recommended!!(I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via Net Galley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.)
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5England, sly-humor, verbal-humor, spies, punnyLady Hardcastle and Flo are the most hilarious 'retired' spies ever! Off on 'vacation' near Clevedon, they share the wonderful old hotel with a number of people from other countries who suddenly wind up missing or dead, one after another, along with a messing strongbox. The staff have interesting names, the manager has a penchant for fainting, and the weather is abysmal. Lady Hardcastle's brother is employed by an agency of the government and sends along a bumbling pair of operatives to 'help' with things like body removal. Add it all together and have tons of fun! I loved it and plan to hunt down some of the earlier books!I requested and received a free ebook copy from Amazon Publishing UK via NetGalley.Thank you!
