About this audiobook

A debut space horror adventure in the vein of Alien, in which a starship captain must keep her crew alive while an unknown intruder hunts them.

As acting captain of the starship Calypso, Jacklyn Albright is responsible for keeping the last of humanity alive as they limp back to Earth from their forebears’ failed colony on a distant planet.

Faced with constant threats of starvation and destruction in the treacherous minefield of interstellar space, Jacklyn's crew has reached their breaking point. As unrest begins to spread throughout the ship’s Wards, a new threat emerges, picking off crew members in grim, bloody fashion.

Jacklyn and her team must hunt down the ship’s unknown intruder if they have any hope of making it back to their solar system alive.

This is the best alien horror I've heard in a while. I loved the twists and turns, the pace of the plot, the world building, and the amazing characters. I really hope to see more stories like this and more from this author.

A decent quick listen, you wont really get anything new or refreshing out of this one though aside from the LGBT and assumed PoC protagonist based on the cover. It's your standard fairly tropey sci fi horror with vaguely described aliens and a sort of cosmic horror feel at the end. Sort of lacked suspense and any semblance of a twist. Was fairly fun to listen to however, with a nice pace.

It was alright; the beginning was slow, but the end was great if not very confusing w/ almost everything being solved so suddenly and seemingly out of nowhere

Avoid at all costs. Should be titled “Incompetents in Space.”

I could not get past the insane premise that the captain would just disappear into his room with no communication and anyone would not freak the f out immediately. If the author had come up with a plausible plot point for that, I might have enjoyed this book, but I just couldn’t get past it. No fucking logic.

Fun, spine chilling SciFi horror, set on a claustophobic and ill-equipped space station that isn't doing so well even if they didn't have strange phenomnenon happen on board...

My first space horror and I enjoyed it a lot. Short, full of action and fast paced !!

Good fun but a little more in the vein of action sci-fi than creepy/horror. You do have the monster element like in Aliens and Predator, but it is not the star like in those stories if that makes sense. So think less jump scares more just fun and entertaining story.

Well written and very economical with its contents, yet full of depth. On the surface, it feels like other claustrophobic sci-fi horror stories on a ship in the void, it has great characterization, with a lot of complex interactions and history, while also juggling several external and internal sub plots. I'll be looking forward to other works by Brown.

This was a pretty good little Sci-Fi/Horror after all! Fast-paced, graphic, tense, and, while not perfect, a well-done story about alien takeover and space exploration.
