About this audiobook

This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.

In the war-torn Caucasus, Hadji Murád, a legendary Chechen rebel leader, makes a desperate gamble. Driven by a thirst for vengeance, he abandons the fight against the Russian Empire and seeks refuge within their ranks. But amidst the snowy peaks of his homeland and the smoke-choked battlefields, he finds himself a prisoner in a new kind of war – a war of suspicion, betrayal, and broken promises. As loyalties shift like desert sands, Hadji Murád's quest for retribution unravels into a web of deceit, forcing him to confront a harsh truth: in the game of power, there are only pawns, and sacrifice is the only currency. Will he find redemption, or will his defiance lead him to a tragic end?

Leo Tolstoy

Leo Tolstoy grew up in Russia, raised by a elderly aunt and educated by French tutors while studying at Kazen University before giving up on his education and volunteering for military duty. When writing his greatest works, War and Peace and Anna Karenina, Tolstoy drew upon his diaries for material. At eighty-two, while away from home, he suffered from declining health and died in Astapovo, Riazan in 1910.
