About this audiobook

A dark contemporary billionaire romance featuring anti-hero, secret society and close proximity tropes from USA Today Bestselling duo P. Rayne.

I spend my nights slinging drinks at Black Magic Bar or taking my clothes off at the local strip club. After my father passed, my stepmother gave me no other choice.

But when I break free of the chains binding me to my family estate, I find myself with nowhere to go. Until Nero Voss, the youngest of the billionaire Voss brothers, offers me a room at Midnight Manor. Now, I’m under his watchful gaze and enjoying it more than I should.

I shouldn’t give in to temptation, he is my stepsister’s ex-fiancé after all, but the pull toward him grows stronger by the day. I fight, but I’m losing the battle.

Nero is keeping secrets, though.

What he doesn’t know is that I’m keeping secrets, too.

    Modern Day Dark Cinderella

Dark, spicy and twisted! P Rayne has given us a delicious twist on fairy tale story. This story was a captivating listen and hard to put down because I didn’t know what to expect next.

Jason Clark and Callie Dalton were incredible the way they brought Nero and Cinder to life. These characters were so complex, and they portrayed them so well! They each had issues and related to each other in so many ways ...
Can’t wait to listen to the next book in this series! P Rayne definitely keeps surprising me in a good way, with their dark stories!

I shake my head before he’s done speaking. “No. I’ll get better whether we have this conversation or not. I need to know if you forgive me.” He sits on the side of the bed and takes my hand. “I do forgive you. I do. And I have my own apology to make. I shouldn’t have reacted the way I did. Yes, I had a right to be upset, but to completely cut you off like that and not consider how you were feeling wasn’t right. But for you to understand why I reacted the way I did, there’s something I have to tell you.”

This series just keeps getting better & better. Fairytale retelling that sucks you in, doesn’t let go, & leaves you begging for more.
Nero is the baby of the Voss brothers. He’s always been under the watchful eyes of his brothers who always protect him. But sometimes, that love & protection can be stifling. And when he finds himself in a cycle of fixation again, he’s determined to control it and prove to them that he doesn’t need their micromanagement.
Cinder is basically an orphan, but lives with her step mother & step sisters. All three of which complete steamroll her on a daily basis just as with the traditional Cinderella story. But she’s determined to make more of her life, she just needs the funds & the perfect opportunity.
When a “chance” encounter brings Nero to Cinder’s aid, she finds herself as a guest in his wing of the Midnight Manor. The magic of the manor works its charm on Cinder, and as she finds herself submersed in this new world, she finds that she doesn’t want to leave. Nero, having been burned recently, is skeptical to allow himself to get too close to Cinder, but sometimes the pull is just too great.
I loved watching these two fall hard for each other despite their efforts not to. Their chemistry is too fierce & neither ever stood a chance in denying the pull. Nero is vigilant in maintaining a watchful eye on every aspect of Cinder’s life. But she’s fortunate, as every time she is in need, he’s right by her side. And I loved the way that he’s so supportive of her & willing to do anything to help make her dreams come true.
But…they both harbor secrets, & as we know, secrets always find a way to come to light. But can a connection this intense overcome lies of omission & perceived deception?

    Audiobook Review:
Jason Clarke as Nero Voss could not have been a better pick. He was exactly how I imagined Nero’s character would be. Callie Dalton presented the chipper & carefree side of Cinder epically. This duet style narration took me on a deeper dive into this magical world.
