About this audiobook

“Ollie, I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you not to scream.”

HER

We met by chance at a random dive bar.

Him - a striking figure in a tailored suit who radiates dominance.

Me - an awkward introvert, innocently stalking my father.

He seduced me.

Worshipped me.

Then, in a blink, he vanished, leaving no trace—not even a name or number.

HIM

I wasn’t supposed to see her again.

We were never meant to meet in the first place.

But here we are:

Her - half asleep after passing out at work.

Me - caught sneaking into her family business in the middle of the night.

She has no clue who I am—that I’ve just settled into a ruthless birthright position within the Italian mafia. Or that her family legacy plays a role in my illegal activities. But I have a feeling the dead body at my feet might bring her up to speed.

I am a huge fan of Eden Summers work and have read everything she has written, and they are all brilliant. But I did wonder where this story would go as Remy had always come across as a bit weak, compared to Matthew and of course Cole and his men!

Eden blew me away (which I of course expected)! Hearing Remy come to life really made this story very special. You can really get into the characters! Remy is caught up in the dirty side of his family business and is the guy who does the killing for his uncle and brother Salvatore.

One night Olivia is following her father as she is acting out of character and through her stalking she runs into Remy, who does not bump into her by accident!

Olivia is so dedicated to the family business; she has not had time for men and is happy not to leave her place of work or home for anything. That is until Remy comes stumbling into her world and suddenly nothing is the same for either of them. They both have baggage, but Remy is determined to keep Ollie at arm’s length, but Ollie does not give up easily. This is a slow burn but steamy battle between Remy and Ollie. Hearing the battle between them both, really helps you understand these characters.

Her father is her life and discovering how he is linked to Remy and his family and why comes as a complete shock for Olivia.

Remy and Ollie are not an obvious match. The mafia man and the mortician, but their story is electric, and every narrated page is delicious to hear!

I listened this as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

This is the tenth book in Summers dark and suspenseful 'Hunting Her' series, and it definitely was just as adventurous, heart-pounding and steamy as all the previous books. Olivia (Ollie) works for her family's funeral home, beautifying the loved ones who passed, for viewing. She is introverted and doesn't like to go out much. But when her father seems to have a secret, she follows him to see what he is up to. That's where this naive girl meets Remy, and the sparks fly instantly. Remy is part of the Italian mafia, and there is not much he hasn't seen or done. But when he meets the innocent, sweet, Ollie, he wants her, but knows he isn't good for her. As their paths cross again and again, their lives become completely entwined. They are from different worlds, but Remy and Ollie's professions are closer than they imagined and it makes their connection even stronger. Remy breaks all his rules for her, even at the risk of their own peril.
I really cheered hard for Remy and Ollie to find their HEA. Ollie may be innocent but she is also strong, and determined. She was the perfect match for the possessive, surly, Remy. I loved seeing characters from past books that we grew to care for be an essential part of this story too.
D.C. Cole and Maxine Mitchell are two of my favorite narrators and they did a great job bringing these characters and story to life. Mitchell nailed Ollie's stubborn, yet vulnerable personality. Cole showed the transformation of the cold, and domineering Remy finding trust and love. I really enjoyed both their performances as they made this heart-pounding, and steamy story even more exciting! The ending left me stunned and I can't wait for where the next book will take us!
