When he made the decision to have surgery and chemotherapy, he took time to reflect. It was then he realized that, distracted by life’s other pressing concerns, he had stopped doing the things he liked, writing being at the top of a long list.
From high school dropout to advanced degree in education, from the working world to a military adventure in the Navy and the Marines, Truman has treasured every moment and experience.
Truman says the cancer event quickly focused his life, as he began it again with writing fiction. Now and Then a Hero was his first published work, and now Enchanted Canyon has come into being. All of his stories are written by hand and, only when completed, are they are typed and edited. It’s the pen in hand, touching the sheet of paper, that extracts the feelings.
