Combs was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1964, and is a graduate of Purdue University, 1986. Throughout high school and college, he worked part-time in his family-owned and-operated bookbinding company, the Perfect Binding Corporation. After college, he began to work full-time at Perfect Binding, in charge of sales customer service, and other areas. In August of 1997, he resigned as vice-president of Perfect Binding in order to attend Rhema Bible Training Center, and unbeknownst to him at that time, he had begun a very long wilderness journey through which all of his writings have been derived.view less
