He served as the chief executive officer at MTN South Africa from 2014 to March 2017, ...view moreMteto Nyati has been group chief executive and executive director of Altron since April 2017. He served as the chief executive officer at MTN South Africa from 2014 to March 2017, where he was responsible for returning the business to growth by overhauling employee engagement and transforming customer experience. Prior to that he was group chief enterprise officer of MTN Group Limited. He joined MTN from Microsoft Corporation, where he was the managing director of Microsoft South Africa from 2008. Beginning in June 2005, he had a twelve-year career at IBM, where he was a director of global technology services for South and Central Africa and served in a number of senior executive roles. He led two large business units at IBM: telecommunications, and small and medium business. He has also served as an independent non-executive director at ADvTECH Ltd. And as a non-executive director of Blue Label Telecoms Limited. In 2004, he was named one of the Yale University’s World Fellows. He is the joint winner of 2013 IT Personality of the Year. Mteto holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Natal.view less
