In 1970, he decided to return back to Texas and start his own business as a gunsmith. Over the years, he developed his writing career, and was eventually asked to write for the American Gunsmith Magazine, which he did well into the 1990s. His love of history and his collections of family papers led him towrite Three Texas Rangers—The Republic of Texas—1836 to 1845 & A Russian in the American Army—WWII—The fighting 4th Infantry. view less
